Yes, it is four o’clock in the morning. I spent all night listing my clothes on eBay. Fortunately I don’t have a work schedule tomorrow. *sigh* But they’re all up for sale now! All my unworn, lovely clothes!
It was hard for me to just let go and list them. I found myself constantly trying to talk myself out of selling various items. Psssh. My brain is battling itself. But I overcame and did the hard work. I made myself a template for listings and stuck to it so that I didn’t get bogged down and waste time re-writing things.
I’ve been a member of eBay for eight years now, so none of this is new for me. I sort of fell into eBay in early high school when looking for rare magazines with ‘N Sync and Christina Aguilera on the covers. (This is the part of the post where I go hide in a corner.) Sometime later in high school I started selling my photography on eBay. I went to a lot of concerts and snuck to the front with my camera and took photos of the celebrities. Selling those photos was pretty lucrative, though possibly illegal…
I’ve become somewhat of an expert on using eBay, though completely by no fault of my own; I’ve just used it for a long time and have learned how every piece of it works. Nerd? Yes. I’ve become very efficient at finding things I want or need on eBay. When I can’t find just what I’m looking for the first time around, I use Fat Fingers and TypoBuddy (also for craigslist) to find misspelled listings that might otherwise not turn up in a search. I also subscribe to eBay searches by RSS whenever I’m keeping my eye out for something particular.
Over the years I’ve sold and bought hundreds of dollars in stuff on eBay. I absolutely love the experience and the fun of it. Did I mention that I absolutely LOVE eBay? Though I’m not happy about their recent feedback forum change. I know some people hate eBay and others love it. Some use it as a tool to get out of debt by generating more snowflakes. Sometimes it’s just a place to go to try and find inexpensive stuff, which is great when you’re trying to live frugally. I did all of my Christmas shopping last year on eBay in one afternoon, and everyone got awesome stuff that they loved. It is possible ![]()
What is your experience with eBay? Do you like it? Do you have any interesting stories from a time when you bought or sold?

Ebay is a great site, I have bought many things there. Now it is time for me to sell many things there. Before I go to a retail store for a big purchase I always check ebay. One man’s trash in another’s treasure.
I have lived with about 4 shirts for Spring/Summer and 4 for fall/winter and 3 pairs of jeans for a couple of years. It is the best thing I ever did. I wear the shirts I really love, and I don’t feel guilty when I buy one and let one go.
